Ashish Mathur appointed managing director, Iris India

London-headquartered integrated marketing agency, Iris has appointed Ashish Mathur as its new managing director for its India operations.

Mathur, who was the senior vice president - experiential at Iris since October 2009, will now oversee the operations of the agency and the work for key clients like Coca-Cola, Sony Ericsson, Microsoft and Adidas.

Stewart Shanley, chief operating officer, Iris, said, ''India is one of the fastest evolving markets in the world and we are working with some great clients and winning a lot of new business. Mathur is the right man to steer the agency through this special growth phase of the India office, while also consolidating our existing business here.''

Mathur has over 25 years of experience in developing experiential and integrated marketing programmes for clients across industry segments.

Prior to joining Iris, he was the senior vice president, activation at Publicis. Before that Mathur was working as the chief operating officer (North and East) at Percept D'Mark, and prior to that was the head of Ogilvy's activation business.

Over the course of his career, Mathur has worked on a range of global blue-chip brands such as American Express, Beam Global, GSK, GeneralMotors, Motorola, Aviva and Google.
