The Indian Newspapers Society (INS) has made four key appointments in its administrative body of executive committee members. Deccan Chronicle's T. Venkattram Reddy has been elected as the president of the INS taking over from Hormusji Cama of Bombay Samachar

Cama was responsible for the World Newspaper Congress being hosted in India and the coming together of the National Readership Studies Council and the Media Research Users' Council to establish a single  readership study.

Vyapar Janmabhoomi's Kundan Vyas is the new deputy president; while India Today's Ashish Bagga is the vice-president and Hindustan Times' Rakesh Sharma is the treasurer.

The new executive team would be responsible to mould the initiatives set up by earlier members and successfully accomplish tasks.

INS is considered to be the spokesperson of the newspaper industry in the sub-continent. From newsprint to advertising, and licenses for machinery to freedom of the press, INS is involved in many spheres.
