BrahMos chief, Dr AS Pillai, receives international recognition for leadership

New Delhi: Distinguished DRDO scientist and BrahMos Aerospace chief, Dr A Sivathanu Pillai, on Tuesday received a 'Level A Project Directorship' certificate for his contribution to and expertise in project management from the International Project Management Association (IPMA), Switzerland. The award was handed over at the DRDO Bhawan here.
IPMA is a body of 44 national Project Management associations across the world.
According to DRDO officials, Dr. Pillai is the first Indian to receive the certificate for his leadership at BrahMos. Aerospace.
With over 40 years of experience in project management at ISRO and DRDO, Dr. Pillai holds a Ph.D in Technology Management from the Harvard Business School.
Under Dr Pillai's leadership, as chief executive officer of BrahMos Aerospace, India and Russia have completed the design and development of the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile family in a short span of time.
The BrahMos supersonic cruise missile has been successfully inducted into the Indian Navy and the Army and advanced versions are now being developed.
