Naidu escapes bid on life

Hyderabad:
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu this
evening survived an assassination bid while driving
to the temple town of Tirumala, according to sources.
Naidu was visiting the Tirumala temple for the annual Brahmotsavam celebrations. "Naidu is safe," according to the CM''s office, Hyderabad.
According
to available information, Naidu received splinter injuries
in a powerful landmine blast that took place just as
his convoy passed by on the Ghat Road No 1 near Vinayaka
temple, at around 4 pm on Wednesday.
His
colleague B Gopalakrishna Reddy (minister for small-scale
industries, Khadi, LIDCAP) and two TDP legislators Ch
Krishnamurthy (Tirupati MLA) and Reddivari Rajasekhar
Reddy (Puttur MLA) accompanying Naidu were also injured
in the blast.
