Xerox's latest paper innovation is a coated stock that is reasonably priced and environment-friendly. Called Xerox Digital C1S (coated 1 side) paper, it is designed for direct-marketing pieces, manuals and book covers that require exceptional image quality. The paper is ideal for printing on one side but is also an effective option when a smooth, lighter surface gloss is required for the second side.
The paper carries the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) product label assuring consumers worldwide that it meets strict standards for sustainable forestry and management.
The paper has a "true white" shade that ensures the exact colour rendering, maintains the integrity of the colour over time and lowers the chance of the human eye misperceiving a colour. For instance, an auto manufacturer could feature a highly-accurate color match of a car's harvest gold metallic paint on the coated side and the second side can serve as a canvas for the vehicle specifications.
In addition to print jobs that require the highest level of image quality and color matching, the affordability of the paper makes it useful for more basic presentations and marketing pieces. Xerox Digital C1S paper can be used on Xerox's entire cut-sheet, laser digital printing portfolio.
The stock has an exclusive three-ply construction for a smooth front-side and back-side. Special coating chemistry provides unrivaled digital image quality and reduces the chance of paper jams during printing.
As part of its goal to preserve biodiversity through responsible forest management and to offer customers "greener" choices, the Xerox Digital C1S paper is FSC certified. The FSC certification confirms the paper has been manufactured using raw materials harvested from certified sustainable sources, controlled wood sources or post-consumer reclaimed sources, and can be tracked through distribution.
Xerox will showcase the Digital C1S paper for the first time at Print 09, taking place from 11 - 16 September at Chicago's McCormick Place.
