Brazil extends visa free visits to Indians

Indians travelling to Brazil will no longer require visas, after its President Jair Bolsonaro decided to extend the facility so far available to visitors from developed countries to those from developing countries such as India and China.
The Brazilian government under President Bolsonaro, a far-right politician who came to power at the beginning of the year, made it a policy to reduce visa requirements from a number of developed countries.
Earlier this year, the Brazilian government ended visa requirements for tourists and businesspeople from the United States, Canada, Japan and Australia.
Bolsonaro, on a visit to China, on Thursday said the South American nation will drop its requirement that visiting Chinese and Indian tourists or businesspeople obtain visas.
Several of these countries, however, have not in return dropped their visa requirements for Brazilian citizens.
Bolsonaro is in China at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, Brazilian President Jair Messias is scheduled to pay his first state visit to China from Thursday to Saturday.
