Pakistan building economic corridor for China over Baloch’s dead: BRP

Activists belonging to the Balochistan Republican Party (BRP) have urged the media to bring to light the atrocities being committed by Pakistani forces on the people of Baluchistan in the name of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

Rejecting China`s interference in Balochistan over the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), the activists said Islamabad wants to build an economic corridor for China on the dead bodies of Baloch people.

The activists say that CPEC was causing damage to the environment and would not benefit the people of the region, instead they allege Balochistan's abundant resources were being diverted for the benefit of Pakistan`s most populous province Punjab.

Considered as a part of China`s One Belt, One Road initiative, the CPEC covers Balochistan and Sindh provinces and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

At a seminar held in Paroon area of Panjgur district, to throw light on the atrocities on the Baloch people, the activists urged the Indian media to highlight the issue.

"We have seen that Pakistani media greatly aired news about the death of Burhan Wani (Hizbul Mujahideen militant). Similarly, we want the Indian media to take Balochistan issue and expose the atrocities done by the Pakistan Army on the people of Balochistan before the world," said an activist at the seminar.

Pakistan is using all means to bring international attention to the killing of terrorists by India security forces but the Indian media has done precious little to support the cause of the Baloch people and to highlight mass killings of innocent Balochs by Pakistani forces with help from their Chinese allies, they pointed out.

He urged the international community and right groups across the globe to raise the voice of oppressed Baloch people on international forum.

The BRP activist said Pakistan is committing genocide and deterring the peaceful struggle of Baloch nationals through different extremist groups like Lashkar-e-Toiba`s Hafiz Saeed.

He also condemned Balochistan chief minister Nawab Sanaullah Zehri's statement on Baloch separatist leader Brahamdagh Bugti.

The activist highlighted that those who have raised their voice on the Balochistan issue were crushed by the Army.

Pakistan is now expediting the process to bring back Baloch separatist leader? Bugti through Interpol in order to completely silence Baloch voice.

So far, thousands of party activists have been killed by the Pakistani intelligence agencies, he said.

"Families wait for justice throughout life, so we hope every country supports our cause just like India that took up the Baloch issue and highlighted them on the international level," he added.

Things have only worsened for Baloch people after PM Narendra Modi's 15 August speech in which he referred to Pakistan's atrocities in Balochistan. Pakistan has started using chemical weapons against the people in Balochistan now.
