New Delhi: Great Britain will have a high profile attendance at the upcoming AeroIndia 2011 show at Yelahanka, Bangalore, which begins 9 February. Minister for defence equipment support and technology, Peter Luff, will lead a high-level delegation to the five-day air show.

Looking to enhance military cooperation with India, close to 40 British companies will be showcasing their capabilities and products, a British High Commission release said here Thursday.

"Our strategic relationship with India is very important, one we value and we are keen to engage in both the defence and security sectors to enhance this relationship," it quoted Luff as saying.

Touching on the participation of the Eurofighter in the Indian Air Force tender for a medium-range multi role combat aircraft (MMRCA), the minister said, "In this regard, the UK, German, Italian and Spanish governments are delighted to offer the Eurofighter Typhoon. All four governments are represented at the show by ministerial teams."

Assisting Luff at the show would be the British High Commissioner to India, Sir Richard Stagg, and the head of the UK Trade and Investment's Defence and Security Organisation (UKTIDSO) Richard Paniguian.

UK companies, such as BAE Systems and Rolls Royce, would be represented at the show alongside Cobham, Hampson, Magellan, STG and Preston.
