UP to receive Rs.180 billion World Bank aid

Mumbai: The Work Bank has approved Rs18,000 crore loan for Uttar Pradesh to develop urban infrastructure and agriculture. The announcement follows a meeting between World Bank''s India country director Isabel Guerrero and UP chief minister Mayawati.

The fund would be utilised for development of urban infrastructure, including roads, augmentation of power generation capacity, agriculture, employment generation, health and poverty alleviation, an official statement said.
