Nifty above 10,800, Sensex soars 290 points; Asian Paints leads gainers' chart

Benchmark indices have ended the day on a strong note, as buying was seen in last hour of trade. Metal outperformed the benchmark indices with gains of 1.5 percent.
The Sensex was up 289.52 points at 35535.79, while the Nifty was up 90 points at 10806.50. About 1115 shares have advanced, 1537 shares declined, and 163 shares are unchanged.
Asian Paints, Tata Steel, HDFC, Larsen and Toubro, ICICI Bank, HPCL, Vedanta, BPCL and Indiabulls Housing were the top gainers on the indices.

The benchmark indices extend gains in the last hour of trading with Sensex gaining more than 270 points. 
The Sensex up 277.68 points at 35523.95, and the Nifty up 89.70 points at 10806.20. About 1106 shares have advanced, 1454 shares declined, and 162 shares are unchanged.

Indostar Capital Finance IPO: The initial public offer of Indostar Capital Finance was subscribed 1.42 times till afternoon trade on the third day of bidding today.
The issue received bids for 3,19,59,590 shares against the total issue size of 2,25,75,438 shares, data available with NSE till 1330 hrs showed.

JSW Steel reported 6 percent growth in crude steel production at 13.61 lakh tonne during April 2018.
The company registered four per cent rise in production of flat rolled products at 9.67 LT as against 9.32 LT in April last year.
The output of long rolled products during the month under review grew nine per cent to 3.24 LT from 2.96 LT in April 2017.

Market Update: The benchmark indices trading strong in the afternoon session with Sensex gaining nearly 200 points at 35441, and the Nifty up 62 points at 10779.
All the sectoral indices trading in green with metals leading with over 1 percent gain while pharma index is down 1.5%. 
HDFC Bank, Reliance Industries, HDFC, ITC and Kotak Mahindra Bank are the positive contributors to the Sensex.

Gold Update: Gold prices slipped in range-bound trading on Friday as the dollar firmed slightly, with investors mostly brushing off a potential broadening of conflict in the Middle East.
Spot gold was down 0.1 percent at $1,319.61 per ounce as of 0656 GMT, after rising to the highest since end-April at $1,322.76 in the previous session. The metal was, however, still on track to register a first weekly rise in four.

Tata Motors today reported 38.81 percent rise in global sales, including that of Jaguar Land Rover, at 1,02,297 units in April. The company had sold a total of 73,691 units in the same month last year.
Global wholesale of all Tata Motors' commercial vehicles and Tata Daewoo range in April 2018 more than doubled to 39,678 units as against 18,844 units in the same month last year, the company said in a BSE filing.

Zee Entertainment up 1% despite 85% fall in Q4 profit; CLSA maintains buy
Shares of Zee Entertainment Enterprises rose 1.5 percent intraday Friday despite weak set of numbers for the quarter ended March 2018. The company's Q4 consolidated net profit declined 85 percent at Rs 230.6 crore against Rs 1,513.8 crore.

Buzzing: Shares of Mphasis touched 52-week high of Rs 1,121.90, adding 12.5 percent post company reported stellar numbers for the quarter ended March 2018.
The company registered 29 percent jump in its consolidated profit to Rs 237.67 crore in quarter ended March 31, 2018 against Rs 184 crore in the same quarter last fiscal.
The revenue from operations rose by 15.8 percent to Rs 1744.48 crore versus Rs 1505.93 crore.
The company board has considered and approved recommendation of dividend of Rs 20 per equity share of Rs 10 each for the financial year ended March 31, 2018.

The market is back at the day’s high points, with Sensex gaining over 100 points, while the Nifty clocked 10,750. Midcaps have maintained their uptrend, but among sectors, PSU banks and infra names are trading in the red. Metals, IT and energy names are trading in the green. PC Jeweller has erased all of its gains and is seeing some volatility. Asian Paints, ICICI Bank, and HPCL have gained the most, while Bharti Airtel, Sun Pharma and Hero MotoCorp are the top losers.

Titan Q4 net jumps 71% to Rs 304 cr
Titan's total income stood at Rs 4,125.69 crore during the quarter under review. It was Rs 3,692.82 crore in the year-ago period, the company said in a BSE filing.

Shares of PC Jeweller gained more than 18 percent in the opening trade on Friday as the company board approved the proposal of share buyback.
The board of PC Jeweller Thursday approved a proposal to buy back 1.21 crore shares at Rs 350 a piece, which translates into a premium of 67 percent from Thursday’s closing price of Rs 209.
As per March quarter-end data, the promoters hold around 57.63 percent stake in the company. LIC holds about 1.93 percent. The board noted that the promoters and promoter group of the company will not participate in the proposed buy back in a statement to the exchange.

Equity benchmarks have begun the day on the right foot, with the Sensex gaining over 100 points, while the Nifty clocked 10,750 during the morning trade. 
The Sensex is up 132.32 points at 35378.59, while the Nifty is up 43.30 points at 10759.80. The market breadth is positive as 518 shares advanced, against a decline of 347 shares declined, while 63 shares have remained unchanged.
Midcaps have begun the day on a positive note, gaining over 0.3 percent on the index. Meanwhile, strength is visible in metals and IT stocks as well. Asian Paints, Tata Steel, and Titan are the top gainers, while Bharti Airtel and Sun Pharma have lost the most.

Rupee opens higher: The Indian rupee gained in the early trade on Friday. It has opened higher by 16 paise at 67.15 per dollar versus 67.31 yesterday.
Market participants will be keeping an eye on industrial production number; expectation is that the growth could be slower in March compared to the previous month. For the day, the USD-INR pair is expected to quote in the range of 67.10 and 67.60, said Motilal Oswal.

Crude Update: Oil prices on Friday dipped away from multi-year highs reached the previous session on hopes that alternative supplies could replace a looming drop in Iranian exports when US sanctions against Tehran are re-imposed.
The United States plans to re-introduce sanctions against Iran, which produces around 4 percent of global oil supplies, after abandoning an agreement reached in late 2015 that limited Tehran's nuclear ambitions in exchange for removing US-Europe sanctions, reported Reuters.
