Birla Corporation achieves highest-ever turnover of Rs2,387.07 crore

The flagship company of the MP Birla Group, Birla Corporation on Thursday announced its results for FY10 which bettered all previous records in terms of production, profit and earnings per share in 2009-10.

The company posted its highest-ever turnover of Rs2,387.07 crore that registered a 17.08 per cent growth over the previous year.

The net profit and EPS of the company were up 72.23 per cent at Rs557.18 crore and Rs72.36, respectively, according to the company's release.

The company board declared a final dividend of Rs3.50 a share in addition to the interim dividend of Rs2.50 per share already declared and paid.

The company has completed 50 years in the cement business is undertaking a capacity expansion at Satna in MP. Under the first phase of the programme, the clinker capacity has been expanded to 7.400 TPD.

The second phase would be completed by July which will see the capacity increase to 9,600 TPD after expansion.
