Asus kicks off Zen Life with Raannvijay campaign, launches PadFone mini

Taiwanese manufacturer Asus, which plans to introduce a host of smart devices in the Indian market, on Friday launched its two-in-one tablet with a phone, PadFone mini.

The device was showcased at a launch event in Delhi with actor Rannvijay Singh as the brand ambassador.

The newly introduced campaign for the same called 'Live the #ZenLife with Rannvijay' would see the star experience the Zen life with the Zenfones.

The campaign would extend across five weeks with each week bringing a new challenge for Singh.

The company has launched its PadFone mini in the country, aimed at a budget phone-tablet combo in India. The device can be ordered on Flipkart.

The PadFone is basically a conventional Android smartphone that comes along with a tablet dock, making it an unconventional gadget.

The smartphone can be placed in the tablet dock, which then synchronized whatever was running on the smartphone's screen on the larger screen of the tablet.

The device is aimed at those who wanted a big-screen device to read e-books, surf the web and watch videos but did not want to lug it around all the time.

While as a standalone device, the dock was unessential, its importance came around once one slid the PadFone smartphone in it, making it a more than handy 3G Android tablet.

According to Peter Chang, regional head, South Asia and country manager, system business group, ASUS India, today's introduction of PadFone Mini marked further extension of the PadFoneries, which expanded Asus users' world where they would enjoy, achieve and save categorically.

The company is due to launch a new iteration of the PadFone in India at the price of Rs 15,999.

The smartphone is almost the same as ZenFone 4 in terms of features and design, except for the docking point at the bottom, so that data could be relayed from the smartphone to the tablet part.

The compact smartphone had the same metallic strip with concentric semicircles at the chin that had been seen in the ZenFone range. The Home, Back and Task Switcher keys were below the screen and were not backlit; and the loudspeaker was positioned next to the rear camera.
