UCO Bank plans 136 ATMs

Kolkata: UCO Bank proposes to open 136 ATMs at the cost of Rs 10 lakh each during the current financial year, to bring the total number of ATMs to 150 by March 2004.

UCO Bank chairman V P Shetty says all the ATMs will be interconnected. Earlier today, he launched the diamond jubilee ATM channel at the local India Exchange branch providing for anytime banking access to the interconnected ATMs of the bank across India.

Nine branches, two each in Kolkata and Delhi and one each in Chennai, Bangalore, Secunderabad, Pondicherry and Rourkela, have been brought under the interconnected channel. A customer can register his or her request for retail loans using the bank's Diamond or Diamond Plus ATM card, says Shetty.
