Syndicate Bank net at Rs 100 cr

Mumbai: Syndicate Bank has posted a 15.62-per cent increase at Rs 99.99 crore for the quarter ended December 2001 as against the Rs 86.48 crore for the same period last year.

The total income for the quarter stood at Rs 756 crore as against the Rs 770.84 crore in the previous corresponding period. The bank reported a net profit of Rs 228.13 crore for the first nine months of the current financial year as against the Rs 212.81 crore for the corresponding period last year.

A bank release said the improved net was on account of a higher operating profit of Rs 291.03 crore for the first nine months as against the Rs 254.82 crore during the corresponding period last year.

The banks capital adequacy as measured by the capital risk weighted ratio for the period was 12.76 per cent as against the 11.81 per cent for the corresponding period last year.
