CBI files case against YSR Cong chief Jaganmohan, 12 others

The Central Bureau of Investigation today filed charges against YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, an MP from Kadapa constituency in Andhra Pradesh, and 12 others in an illegal assets case.

The CBI submitted the chargesheet to the special court in Hyderabad. The accused have been charged with cheating, criminal conspiracy and criminal breach of trust, the CBI said.

Jaganmohan Reddy, son of late chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, has been named accused number one, while Vijay Sai Reddy, who was arrested by the CBI on 2 January, is the second accused. Jaganmohan has not yet been arrested.

Another of the accused is suspended Indian Administrative Service (IAS) offer B P Acharya, who is already in jail in the Emaar-APIIC case. Accused number two, Vijay Sai Reddy, is also already in jail.

The CBI submitted a 68-page charge sheet to the special CBI court in which it charged the accused with cheating, criminal conspiracy and criminal breach of trust.

Earlier this month, the Supreme Court, had said six ministers, all from the Congress, and eight bureaucrats from the IAS should explain their alleged role in the case of corruption against Jaganmohan.
