Patil Rail’s ballastless track system to connect Delhi Int’l airport and railway station

Patil Rail Infrastructure Pvt Ltd (PRIL) has won a contract from Delhi Airport Metro Express, a group company of the Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group, for building the first high-speed ballastless track in India. Under terms of contract, PRIL is expected to design, manufacture, supply and supervise the laying of ballastless track solution for the Delhi Airport Metro Express Link.

The company will also have to complete the 45 km route from the Indira Gandhi International Airport to Connaught Place by February 2010 – in time for the Commonwealth Games.

With a total length of 45 route kilometers (RKM) and six stations, the Airport Metro Express Line in New Delhi will establish a link between New Delhi Railway Station and Indira Gandhi International Airport.

With RHEDA 2000 track solution, trains can travel at speeds up to 160 kmph enabling quicker travel to and from the airport.

RHEDA 2000 Ballastless Track Solutions being implemented by Patil Rail Infrastructure has been developed in India in collaboration with RailOne AG, Germany, who are well-known designers and implementers of high speed rail track solutions in Europe.

Patil Rail is also in the process of installing RHEDA Ballastless Track on the Jammu-Kashmir railway line.
