Loek van den Boog appointed executive director of Patni

Mumbai: Global IT services provider, Patni Computer Systems, today announced the appointment of  Louis Theodoor (Loek) van den Boog as executive director of the company with effect from 29 April 2008.

Prior to the appointment, van den Boog worked as an independent director with the company since joining Patni in March 2005.

In his 25 years in the software industry, he has held various executive level positions in international software companies, as well as chairman and other board positions in  private and public companies, including Oracle.

van den Boog played a significant role in Oracle's sterlin growth during his tenure from 1984 to 1996. He left the American firm, as the senior vice-president of Oracle Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA), comprising 8000 employees and $1.5 billion in revenues.

Before joining Patni, he held CEO positions at Meta4 as well as at Cordys BV, a leading provider of SOA and BPM technology.
