Shantilal Daga in IFAC''s developing nations committee

Hyderabad: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced that the US-based International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) has appointed its central council member, Shantilal Daga, to the Developing Nations Committee for a period of two years. Daga will represent India on behalf of ICAI.

The IFAC is the worldwide organisation for accountancy profession.

In a press release, the ICAI said that the New York headquartered IFAC is represented by 160 professional bodies of 120 countries. Its mission is to serve the public interest and strengthen the worldwide accountancy profession. The objective of the Developing Nations Committee is to support the development of the accounting profession, particularly in developing nations by aiding their participation in the international standard setting process.
