India's leading document company, Modi Xerox, has launched its new myfaX series of fax machines for small office-home offices (SOHO), small establishments and home-use. The myfaX offers two configurations: X-7242A with a digital answering machine and X-7242 without one.

Unlike most answering machines based on cassette technology, myfaXA has an in-built digital answering machine that harnesses the power of the microchip. This, says Modi Xerox, enables dynamic storage and retrieval of messages without any rewinding and forwarding. A remote access facility allows for dial and access for playback from any touchtone phone anywhere in the world. A build-in battery flash memory keeps the messages intact even if the power goes off.

Till 15 July 1999, myfaXA is available at an inaugural price of Rs 10,990. Sales tax would be extra.
