General Dynamics acquires Network Connectivity Solutions

General Dynamics Corp, a US defence conglomerate yesterday acquired Network Connectivity Solutions Corp (Netconn), a provider of information technology services and cloud computing to the US Department of Defence.

The value of the cash transaction was not disclosed, but General Dynamics said it expects the acquisition to boost its earnings from 2012.

Founded in 1997, Netconn provides enterprise information technology services to the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and other DoD agencies.

The Hagerstown, Maryland-based company supports net-centric IT operations, including data centre infrastructure, value engineering, information assurance and edge computing.

Netconn provides IT support to the DoD organisations responsible for enterprise services and cyber security, which includes serving as a prime contractor on DISA's ENCORE II contract.

ENCORE II is an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity, multiple-award contract for use by military services, the Department of Defence, the intelligence and other federal agencies.
