GSS America to host 'centre of excellence’ for BITS Pilani

Mumbai: Hyderabad headquartered global managed IT services provider GSS America today said it had signed a memorandum to set up a centre of excellence at its Hyderabad premises for Birla Institute of Technology and Sience (BITS Pilani).
The centre is aimed at creating a 360-degrees collaboration between GSS America and BITS Pilani to offer a platform for service alliance for the long term benefit of the BITS students.
As a part of the agreement, GSS America will accommodate a batch of 10 students for two programmes from BITS for each practice. The programme, which will be interactive and logical in nature, will involve students in problem solving activities of direct interest and relevance to the organisations and orient students to the professional world. The practice school 1 program would commence in May 2010 followed by practice school 2 program in July 2010.
GSS America Infotech will also sponsor the top three performers of the program every year for the masters of engineering programme at BITS.
GSS and BITS will develop a global campus management system as the first product at this centre. GSS is committed in providing students the best technical knowledge combined with professional orientation to increase their employment opportunities and develop their skill set for better understanding of the industry.

As a part of the program there will also be guest lectures from practice managers once in a month on the service offerings under 'Managed IT Services' who will guide the students and provide them with the best technical knowledge.
