Western Digital launches 1 terabyte mobile hard drive in India

California-based Western Digital (WD) has launched two new mobile hard drives with expanded capacities, with one of these offering one terabyte of data storage space.
The WD Scorpio Blue SATA 2.5-inch hard drive utilises the 333 gb-per-platter technology to offer 1 terabyte of disk space to mobile storage device and notebook users.
The company has also released a 750 gigabyte Scorpio Blue model.
Both devices carry a 12.5mm form factor and are ideally suited for use in portable storage solutions, such as the newly released My Passport Essential SE portable USB drives.
Offering a with a 3 gigabits per second transfer rate, the two disks can also be used with select notebooks and small form factor desktop PCs.
