It’s raining discounts again as Flipkart sale follows Amazon

For online shoppers, it is raining discounts once again. Shortly after Amazon announced its Great Indian Sale from 21-24 January, Flipkart on Tuesday announced its Republic Day Sale, which will be one day shorter - from January 21-23.

Both companies are poised to offer deals across categories such as smartphones, fashion and home appliances.

Flipkart will offer up to 69 per cent to 80 per cent off on laptops, cameras, clothing, footwear, furnishing and nearly 70 per cent off on TVs and other appliances. Flipkart will also be showcasing its 'The India Store', offering a selection of the most diverse products from India.

The top deals on Flipkart include Smartron t.phone P at Rs7,999, Google Pixel 2 XL at Rs48,999, Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge at Rs35,900, Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 at Rs10,999 and Mi Mix 2 at Rs29,999. The sale will also see the exclusive availability of Honor 9 Lite, a quad-camera smartphone from Huawei.

Flipkart will also offer no cost EMI, Debit Card EMI, product exchange offers, buyback guarantee, and 'buy now pay later' options. It will also offer 10 per cent cash back on payments made through Citibank credit and debit cards.

Its in-house fashion labels including MarQ, Metronaut and Divastri will also offer apparel and accessories at ultra-low prices.

On similar lines, Amazon India will also be providing interesting deals on mobiles, laptops, apparel, large electronics and home and kitchen products. Amazon Prime members will get a 12-hour early access from 20 January.

The Great Indian Sale is promising deals on over 10,000 brands across product categories, along with no cost EMIs and exchange offers. With up to 40 per cent off on mobile phones, up to 55 per cent off on home and kitchen appliances and up to 80 per cent off on fashion, it may offer a lot of value to buyers.
