Bajaj Auto, one of India’s oldest two-wheeler brands, has taken a 25 per cent share in the country’s electric two-wheeler market in December 2024, overtaking the all-electric scooter brand Ola Electric, data available with the Vahan portal showed.

Bajaj Auto’s December market share is a 3 per cent improvement from its November 2024 level. Ola Electric, on the other hand saw falling sales amidst product quality concerns. Ola’s December market share fell to 19 per cent from 24 per cent in December.

Other rivals like Ather Energy and TVS also improved their market share. While Ather Energy’s market share improved from 11 per cent to 14 per cent in December 2024, TVS maintained its market share of 23 per cent.

Bengaluru-based Ola Electric is facing competition mainly from Bajaj and TVS despite the introduction of low-priced electric scooters with portable battery packs for gig workers.

Hero MotoCorp was the other major looser, having lost 5 per cent market share in December.
