Mumbai: Amadeus, a leading global distribution system (GDS) and travel industry technology provider, today announced that it has successfully renewed the stringent ISO 9001:2000 quality certification which will be valid till May 2007.

ISO 9001:2000 forms the foundation of Amadeus's company-wide quality management system, which guarantees consistent customer focused processes aimed at achieving outstanding innovation, world-class products and superior value for money. In May 2001, Amadeus India became the first National Marketing Company (NMC) of any GDS in the world to be certified in the new version of the ISO standard, which measures best practices in the company's management and business processes against leading global benchmarks. Three years later, Amadeus India continues to be the only NMC of any GDS to be ISO 9001:2000 certified.

Elaborating on the certification, Ankur Bhatia, managing director, Indian subcontinent, said, "At Amadeus, focus on quality is a top priority. We believe that this reflects in everything we do as a company and in our interaction with our customers and partners. The ISO 9001:2000 certification validates this commitment and further strengthens the invincible trust that our customers have on the Amadeus GDS, and our internationally recognised guidelines and standards on quality management."

The quality system certification ensures commitment to the highest global standards for performance and delivery. This reflects in all departments of Amadeus's core sites: the corporate headquarters in Madrid, Spain, the data centre in Erding, Germany, and the development centre in Sophia Antipolis, France.
