Nikkei and TERI host first global eco-business forum in India

As the world gears up for the Copenhagen ministerial meet, efforts are being made by developed nations to share their technical expertise with the developing nations.

Nikkei Inc of Japan and TERI organised the first 'Global Eco-Business Forum' in India to enhance India-Japan collaboration to evovle ways to reduce carbon emissions by using environment and energy technologies.

The seminar is one in a series of eco-business forums being held in four cities of the world including one held in July, 2009 in Tokyo. Other cities where the forum will be held include Shanghai and Washington DC.

The participating Japanese organisations include Heat Pump & Thermal Storage Technology Center of Japan, Japanese Business Alliance for Smart Energy Worldwide and Mitsubishi Corporation.

Sun and Sands Advisors, an advisory company based in Tokyo brought this Nikkei organized event to India in association with TERI and Mitsubishi Estate, to facilitate strategic partnerships and business alliances between India and Japan.

Present on the occasion were Kohei Osada, senior managing director, Nikkei Inc, Hideaki Domichi, Ambassador of Japan to India, Dr Rajendra Pachauri, chair, IPCC and director general, TERI among other government and corporate representatives from India and Japan.
