Hutch launches over 250 Java-based mobile games

Hyderabad: Telecom operator, Hutch has launched over 250 Java-based games including a Rahul Dravid cricket game for its customers in an exclusive development alliance with gaming company, Mauj.

According to Harit Nagpal, vice-president, Hutch, "Gaming is one of the fastest-growing mobile applications internationally as well as in India. We are adding two new games to our existing portfolio daily. We are also launching an exclusive Rahul Dravid cricket game which will be available to Hutch users only."

According to the company, this year Hutch customers have been downloading over 1,20,000 mobile games every month, which is a 50-fold increase from the average of 2,200 mobile game downloads in February last year. The company feels that with the increasing usage of GPRS handsets and applications this trend will only increase.
