Essilor launches Airwear

New Delhi: Essilor India, a joint venture between Essilor International S A of France, the US$ 2 billion world leader in ophthalmic lenses and SRF Limited have announced the launch of ''Airwear'' spectacle lenses targeted at the youth.

The company says the polycarbonate Airwear lenses are up to 43 per cent lighter, 30 per cent thinner, on average 38 percent flatter and are 10 times more impact resistant than ordinary plastic lenses. In addition to this they offer 100 percent UVA and UVB protection.

Speaking at the launch of Airwear, B Jayanth, MD, Essilor SRF Optics Ltd said, “The launch of Airwear in India is a demonstration of Essilor''s commitment to providing superior ophthalmic optic products to the Indian consumer. This product combines cutting edge technology with an understanding of the specific needs of the spectacle lens wearer. We are proud to be the enablers that reach this product to all those who live with the need for such a lens.”

The Airwear lenses are available as Airwear Titus and Airwear Crizal and are also available with all leading opticians across the country.
