WPPED Cream Awards 2009 announced

Seven agencies from India have bagged awards at WPPs WPPED Cream Awards 2009. They are JWT India, Ogilvy India, Rediffusion Y&R, 141 Sercon, Contract Advertising, Mediacom India and Genesis Burson-Marsteller.

WPP is a communications services group providing national, multi-national and global clients with advertising, media investment management, information, insight and consultancy, public relations and public affairs, branding and identity, healthcare communications, direct, digital, promotion and relationship marketing. 

The WPPED Cream Awards recognises the best work produced by WPP companies in all disciplines across eight categories - advertising, direct, design and branding, interactive, media, public relations and 360. The award-winning works are published in the WPPED Cream Book and on its website.

JWT India has bagged five internal WPP awards, including its work for The Times of India titled 'A Day in the Life of Chennai' in advertising for the sub-category film; the 'Teach India' campaign for Bennett Coleman & Co Ltd in the 360 campaign category and Direct category; Maharashtra Janavikas Kendra campaign titled 'Street to School' in the design and branding category; and for Unilever's Lux campaign titled 'The Scandal' in the media category.

Ogilvy India bagged three WPPED Cream Awards 2009 - the work for SAB Miller India, Foster's titled 'The Elusive Coaster' in Advertising's Ambient category; Perfetti van Melle, Sour Marbels campaign titled 'Caveman, Tourist, Diver' in advertising's print category; and the campaign for Nalini Prabhakar, titled 'Art Restoration', in the design category.

Rediffusion Y&R brought home two awards for Bharti Airtel and American India Foundation campaigns in the print and radio advertising categories, respectively. Contract Advertising bagged an award for Wildlife SOS campaign in the 360 campaign category, while Mediacom India bagged an Award for P&G's Gillette campaign, also in the 360 campaign category. 141 Sercon bagged an Award for Aseema Charitable Trust in the direct category, while Genesis Burson-Marsteller India bagged an award in the public relations category for its work on National Geographic.
