Winners at Young Achievers Awards 2009, announcement of special awards for digital

The entries in this year's Ad Club Bombay's Young Achievers Awards 2009 were from 10 categories. The winners were declared at a ceremony in Mumbai yesterday. During the event, Ad Club of Bombay announced a special award ceremony for digital awards, called 'Digital Abby'. The platform will not only be open to digital agencies, but also creative and media agencies for their works in the digital medium.

The winners:

• Amol Jadhav (Shoot at Sight) for Lead India campaign in the photographer of the year category
• Abhijit Kumar (Mudra) for TVS Scooty in the best business initiative category
• Ayappa Kogandamaadappa (Footcandles Films) for DLF IPL2 in the film director of the year category
• Vasant Karkera (Tribal DDB) for Idea Cellular in the digital person of the year category
• Prasanna Kumar (Mediacom) for Gillete Mach 3 in the brand marketer of the year category
• Siddhi Mukhesh (McCann Erickson) who received two awards for Fedrigoni – Monsters Inc in the designer of the year and art director of the year category
• Ryan Mendonca (O&M), too, bagged two trophies for Breakthrough campaign in the copywriter of the year and social thinker of the year category, an award that he shared with Mark Benjamin (O&M)
• Himanshu Phutela (Lodestar) and Naresh Batra (Lodestar) bagged the Pappu Awards in the media person of the year category
