Snapdeal appoints Airtel's Govind Rajan as strategy chief

Snapdeal, India's largest online marketplace, has appointed Govind Rajan as its Chief Strategy Officer, effective August.

Previously, he was chief marketing officer (B2C) at Bharti Airtel, responsible for revenue and market share growth, customer life cycle management and building marketing capability across the organisation.

Concurrently Rajan had also served as CEO - Airtel Money (Airtel M-commerce Services).

Before joining Airtel, Govind was with Hindustan Unilever (HUL), where he was regional vice president, South Asia, for skin cleansing and prior to that, vice president for HUL's skin care business, handling Dove, Ponds, Fair & Lovely, Vaseline, Lakme, Pears, Lifebuoy and Lux.

He also served as the customer marketing and sales operations head of HUL.

Rajan has a masters in International Business from Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) and a bachelor' degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Madras.
