Infosys, TVS Motors strike up a different alliance

Two of the country's top businesses Infosys and TVS group have come together in a different kind of association, with N R Narayana Murthy's son Rohan yesterday entering into wedlock with Lakshmi Venu, daughter of TVS Motor Company chairman Venu Srinivasan.
Rohan Murthy (28), a Microsoft fellow, is pursuing PhD in Computer Science at Harvard University.
The event, held in Chennai, was attended by a luminaries from different walks of life, including senior BJP leader LK Advani, union ministers P Chidambaram, Kamal Nath, Anand Sharma and G K Vasan, besides top leaders from the corporate world.
Former chairman of Infosys and Unique Identification Authority of India president Nandhan Nilekani, Air Deccan founder-chairman captain G R Gopinath as also Godrej Group chairman Adi Godrej were among prominent guests seen at the event.
Around 100-150 priests from the hill shrine of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam rendered "sthothrams" to bless the couple.
At the stroke of 10.15 am, Rohan tied the 'mangalsutra' around Lakshmi's neck.
Tight security arrangements were made at the venue in Radhakrishnan Salai and the media were not allowed entry.
