Steven Kalczynski appointed general manager, The Oberoi, Mumbai

New Delhi: Steven Kalczynski has been appointed general manager of The Oberoi, Mumbai.
Kalczynski's career spans 30 years in the luxury hospitality trade at exceptional hotels and resorts across the globe. Prior to his appointment he was general manager at The Ballantyne, part of Starwood's Luxury Collection in Charlotte, North Carolina.
In the nearly five years at The Ballantyne, the hotel received a range of awards and accolades, including the AAA Four Diamond Award, Mobil Four Star Award and Starwood's Tiffany Award for the highest ranking luxury hotel worldwide with overall quality scores in 2008 and 2009.
He has also spent a significant amount of time with the Sheraton Corporation, and lived and worked in China.
In his new role, Mr. Kalczynski is overseeing the re-opening of The Oberoi, Mumbai, scheduled for 24 April 2010, following extensive restoration and renovation causewd by the Mumbai terror atacks in November 2008.
