Rajdeep Sardesai re-elected as president, Editors Guild of India

Rajdeep Sardesai, editor-in-chief, IBN Network, has been re-elected president of the Editors Guild of India for a second term at the elections held in Delhi yesterday.

Veteran journalist and The Indian Express columnist Coomi Kapoor has been elected the general secretary. She takes over from K Sachidananda Murthy, resident editor, Delhi, The Week, who politely declined requests to stay on.

Rohit Bansal, COO, India TV, has been re-elected the treasurer for yet another term.

The Editors Guild of India is the only professional organization representing editors across the country. It was established in 1977 just after the Emergency. Nearly 200 members from national, regional and local newspapers, magazines and electronic media.
