Jiggy George quits Cartoon Network

Jiggy George has quit Cartoon Network, where he was executive director for eight years. George had joined the company as senior manager in 2001 for the off-channel commerce business. During his tenure, George had set up the licensing business of Cartoon Network in India, and under his leadership, India licensing and merchandising division became Cartoon Network's largest unit in Asia.

Last year, George was also given additional responsibility of Turner's movie division.

In 2008, he was given additional charge to set up a theatrical division to leverage the power of Turner channels, consumer products and new media businesses to market these films effectively in India and South Asia.As head of the division, George was responsible for all aspects of the theatrical business including production, marketing, distribution, licensing and merchandising and ancillary functions.

George has experience of 16 years in the media domain, where he also worked with companies like MTV India.
