Prakash Telang to be new Tata Motors MD, Ravi Kant to be non-executive vice chairman

Prakash TelangRavi Kant, managing director of Tata Motors, will retire from his executive position on 1 June, on reaching the retirement age of 65 years, the company said in a release.

The board of directors of the company has, however, decided to retain Kant on the board as non-executive vice chairman of the company, it said.
 
The board has also decided to elevate Prakash M Telang, the current executive director (commercial vehicles), as the managing director – India operations, effective 2 June 2009.
