Max New York Life appoints Rajesh Sud as CEO and MD, Rajit Mehta as COO

Max New York Life Insurance Ltd today announced the promotion of Rajesh Sud, deputy mnaging irector as chief executive officer and managing director and of Rajit Mehta, deputy chief operating officer as the COO effective 1 November pending formal IRDA approval.
Gary Bennett, who served as CEO and MD of the company since July 2005, has been named executive vice president and CEO for Greater China of New York Life International, LLC, effective immediately.
Max New York Life is the joint venture between of Max India Ltd. and New York Life International, LLC, the international arm of New York Life Insurance Company.
Previously, as a member of the company's core management team, Sud was responsible for steering the overall distribution network of the company and overseeing the product management, marketing, corporate affairs and customer relationship management functions. Sud earned his Bachelor of Commerce and an MBA and in marketing and finance from Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi University before completing his Advanced Management Program from Wharton.
Mehta is also a founding team member of the Max New York Life team. Prior to his role as Deputy Chief Operating Officer, he served as Max New York Life's executive director for HR, training and internal communications. Prior to joining Max New York Life, he was director, personnel at Bank of America and worked with HCL - Hewlett Packard. Mehta is management graduate and has attended an Advanced Management Course at INSEAD.
