ING Vysya bank appoints Future Brands' MD Santosh Desai on its board

ING Vysya bank has appointed Santosh Desai, managing director of the Kishore Biyani-led Future Group firm, Future Brands, to its board of directors.
Desai, a marketing and advertising professional for over 20 years, has and has been responsible for building many well-known brands the country.
Commenting on Mr. Desai's appointment, K R Ramamoorthy, Chairman of the Board, said "The bank has seen strong growth in performance over the last two years and we are looking to continue the progress. A key component of the platform is a strong brand. We are delighted to have the experience and knoweldge of Mr. Desai on the Board to support and guide our marketing efforts.
The bank said the appointment was in line with the Ganguly Committee's recommendations on external directors corporate governance.
