R H Patil to succeed C B Bhave as NSDL chairman

Mumbai: Clearing Corporation of India Ltd (CCIL) chairman R H Patil has been appointed non-executive chairman of the National Securities and Depositories (NSDL). He succeeds C B Bhave who is taking charge as chairman of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).

Gagan Rai, currently executive director of NSDL, has been promoted as CEO and managing director of NSDL. Patil will also continue to be the chairman of CCIL.

Patil, who founded the National Stock Exchange in 1994, was earlier the executive director of Industrial Development Bank of India.
