Keshub Mahindra presented ''Qimpro quality statesman'' award

Mumbai: Keshub Mahindra, chairman, Mahindra & Mahindra, has been presented the Qimpro platinum standard - ''statesman for quality business award'' for 2005 for his achievements that have met and surpassed global expectations.

Mahindra received the award at the hands of Suresh Lulla, principal trustee, Qimpro Foundation, at a public awards function in Mumbai on January 12, 2006

The award citation hails Mahindra as a "Distinguished industrialist, philanthropist and citizen. An iconic Indian, who has redefined corporate governance."

Mahindra has chaired the Mahindra Group for over four decades. Apart from leading the Group to financial success, he has ensured that every company within the Group befriends society through active collaboration, involving not only financial commitment, but also executive time commitment.

A BSc graduate from Wharton, University of Pennsylvania, Mahindra joined the company as a director in 1948 and became its chairman in 1963. His continuous involvement has enabled the M&M to reach a position of eminence in Indian industry.
