BHEL engineer bags award

Hyderabad: The National Design Award 2003 has been awarded to Dr Hari Shankar Jain, additional general manager, heading the gas insulated power equipment and switchgear laboratory at Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd''s (BHEL) corporate R&D division.

The award was instituted by the Institution of Engineers (India) and the National Design and Research Forum.

According to a statement from BHEL, Jain''s efforts in the design and development of gas-insulated substations in 36 KV and 145 KV classes have opened up a new business proposition for the organisation.
