NASSCOM Foundation, the CSR arm of NASSCOM, India's premier IT industry body, has today announced the second chapter of the NASSCOM Social Innovation Honours for 2010.
The NASSCOM Social Innovation Honours are instituted to recognise and applaud pathbreaking innovations based on the use and implementation of technology to bring about social change.
The Honours aim to recognise excellence and to encourage innovation in social development initiatives. The Honours 2010 will recognise NGOs and social development organisations which have harnessed and implemented ICT enabled solutions to deliver better and more far reaching services in their initiatives and efforts towards social development.
NASSCOM Foundation is currently open to receiving applications for these awards across five categories, namely, ICT innovation for community initiatives by non-profit organisations, ICT led innovation by for-profit organisations -- which includes socially relevant products and services (adding to the top line / bottomline) and CSR initiatives by organisations, ICT led innovation by government, innovations by multi-stakeholder partnerships, and programmes or projects on the environment.
The Honours also aim to inspire a new generation of socially conscious leaders who take up relevant social challenges be it in education or health, livelihood or environment and address them effectively and efficiently through the efficient implementation of innovative ideas.
