HTC recently launched its HTC Fuze jointly with AT&T. The latest touch screen device from the Taiwan-based handset maker sports a full slide out QWERTY keyboard and takes some of its elements from an earlier model, the Google Android-based T-Mobile G1.

The Fuze, comes after a string of recent high-profile HTC devices - the HTC Touch Diamond and HTC Touch Pro Chief among them - to fully entrench HTC against other touch-screen titans like the Apple iPhone 3G, the T-Mobile G1 and the just launched BlackBerry Storm.

HTCThe HTC Fuze is based on the Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional operating system. Additionally, the Fuze supports industry-specific applications and Microsoft System Center Mobile Device Manager, a mobile device management solution that also provides security, mobile VPN and software distribution for Windows Mobile devices.

The smart phone also works with Microsoft Direct Push e-mail and Xpress Mail, which lets users access work and personal e-mail accounts, not only Outlook, but also Lotus Notes, Yahoo Mail, AOL, Windows Live and more.

It also supports text messaging and instant messaging from AOL, Yahoo and Windows Live Messenger.

The HTC Fuze is a quad-band device that also adds in Bluetooth 2.0 support, USB connectivity, push-to-talk capabilities, built-in GPS and Wi-Fi connectivity.

It features a 3.2-megapixel camera with video recording and playback capabilities and offers a 262,000 colour 2.8-inch 480 x 640 VGA touch screen for touch-sensitive navigation control, with three-dimensional animated transitions as well as HTC's TouchFLO 3D.

For internal memory, the HTC Fuze features 512 MB or ROM and 288 MB of RAM. Memory can expand up to 32 GB with a microSD card. It offers up to 7.4 hours of talk time and 19.3 days of standby time.
