Taiwanese company High Tech Computer (HTC),  renowned for its production of smartphones, has revealed plans to sell one million G1 phones by the end of 2008. CEO Peter Chou projected that T-Mobile network will sell one million G1 devices by the end of this year.

Visual Voicemail: PhoneFusion, an innovative provider of reliable communications solutions, launched the beta version of Fusion Voicemail Plus for G1 handsets. The beta application brings visual voicemail to G1 devices and future Android-powered phones. Due to an overwhelming response from the Android community, the company released the software in the beta version, weeks before it originally planned to launch in the Android market.

The application allows users to centralise their various voicemail boxes into one place. It also displays caller ID and a name on each voicemail,  irrespective of whether the information is already saved in the users' address book or not. The service also allows users to listen to their voicemails directly from their smartphone.

PocketGear launches Android Storefront: PocketGear, well known for application stores like PocketGear.com, Mobile2Day.com and PalmGear.com, launched the AndroidGear.com to sell a suite of free and commercial applications for G1 phones and future devices that run on the Android operating system. The company launched the site with a promotional sale of 25 per cent discount on all of its storefronts through the end of the month. By entering the voucher code "SALE25"  users can save 25 per cent on all applications purchased until 30 November 2008.

Opera Mini: A beta version of Opera Mini 4.2 was recently launched in the Android market. The alternative web browser provides links to a person's RSS feeds, Facebook, the BBC, CNN and live scores. The browser allows users to synchronise their bookmarks, speed dial and other features between mobile and PC.  HTC G1 Android phone users can download the beta browser for free as an alternative to the browser already included on the phone.
