Xperia X1 from Sony Ericsson, now in India

Sony Ericsson launched its touch-screen smart phone 'Xperia X1' in New Delhi on Thursday. Sleek and stylish, the 'Xperia X1' comes with a 3-inch wide screen, a full keyboard in a quality Sony Ericsson Xperia X1metal-finish body, and the surprise is that it comes loaded with Windows Mobile. Its 4-GB card can be upgraded to 32 GB. The phone is targeted at the premium multi-media devices market, which nearly doubles every year.

Xperia X1 can be personalised through nine-panel user interface to suit the users' mood and lifestyle. Users can access content quickly and directly through touch-screen, easily switching between applications by flipping through the uniquely customised panels. With Windows Mobile, high data transfer rate and Wi-Fi support, one can enjoy one's favourite entertainment and work efficiently on the move."

The X1 arc-slider with Java virtual machine (JBed) supports JavaME. The three-inch touch screen with 65,536-colour TFT WVGA display overlaying a QWERTY keypad emerges when the user slides the screen. The 3.2-mega pixel digital camera can record video at thirty frames per second in VGA (640x480) quality. The phone also features A-GPS for navigation.

At Rs44,500, the new multimedia device is the outcome of convergence between the entertainment and mobile web communication experience.
