13 applicants short-listed for post of TRAI Chairman

Thirteen applicants have been short-listed for the post of Chairman, Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, reports CNBC-TV18, quoting sources. Sixteen applications including that of Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal Member GD Gaiha have been rejected. 

Six serving ex-IAS officers in fray include Arun Ramanathan, Yashwant Bhave, Chandra Pal, AK Singh, S Dash, and AK Rath, sources said. Three Indian telecom service officers in fray include SD Saxena, GS Grover, and K Sridhara. 

Souces said one lawyer, 1 HCL BPO executive, and one Railway Board member are also in fray. Siddhartha Behura, Secretary, Department of Telecom, is not in the list of applicants.
