Infy impact: market cap of 5 top Sensex companies down Rs45,000 cr

A falling Infosys stock has taken a toll on other 5 top 10 Sensex stocks which lost a combined market valuation of over Rs45,000 crore in the last week.
Infosys, the bigger loser among these, lost Rs32,639 crore in market value at Rs1,31,813 crore. Infosys shares were down 20 per cent at the close of trading on Friday.
The IT bellwether disappointed market with lower than expected results and an even lower guidance for fiscal 2013-14.
Other Sensex toppers who lost market value included ONGC, RIL, Coal India and HDFC.
Coal India lost Rs5,400 crore in market cap, closing the week at Rs1,89,459 crore; ONGC's stock value slipped Rs4,834 crore to Rs2,63,936 crore while RIL lost Rs1,634 crore in m-cap at Rs2,50,865 crore and HDFC's market cap was down Rs517 crore at Rs1,18,396 crore.
However, India's top IT company Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) reported gains in market valuation, which, along with ITC, HDFC Bank, SBI and ICICI Bank reported a collective gain of Rs16,094 crore.
The m-cap of TCS surged Rs2,211 crore to Rs2,95,794 crore; SBI gained Rs1,727 crore at Rs1,39,714 crore and ITC gained Rs1,304 crore at Rs2,31,602 crore.
ICICI Bank gained Rs5,442 crore in m-cap at Rs1,20,563 crore, while HDFC Bank's value rose Rs5,410 crore to Rs1,53,123 crore as the trading week closed on Friday.
The BSE Sensex was down over 1 per cent at 18,242.56 at close of trading on Friday.
