SmartcardsExpo2010 to be held in Mumbai

Bombay Exhibition Centre in Goregaon(E), Mumbai will play host to the SmartcardsExpo2010, a smart card exposition on 28-30 September, 2010, which aims to create awareness about the applications of smart card, RFID, biometrics and e-payment technologies in the Government, businesses and socio-economic spheres.
The event is sponsored by the ministry of communications and information technology and supported by national and international industry associations.
More than 200 exhibitors from about 25 countries are expected to participate in the exhibition.
A full-day pre-conference technical workshop on ''Technology options for e-payments'' will be held on 27 September, and will feature experts from HCL Info Systems, Goldyne Technoserve Ltd., WYSE Biometrics and others at the event.
An international conference on ''Trends in e-payments – challenges and opportunities'' will be held on 28-29 September. The two-day conference will cover e-payment technologies and applications.
Organised by Electronics Today, the techno-economic electronics monthly journal, SmartCards Expo 2010, is co-located with e-security expo 2010, RFidIndia expo 2010, biometricsIndia expo 2010 and e-paymentsIndia Expo 2010.
India is witnessing a surge in e-payments, with a growth rate of over 41 per cent last year and are expected to grow at 65-70 per cent in next two years.
