Bharti Airtel today said it had entered the $50-million Indian hosted contact centre services market in consortium with networking equipment leader Cisco Systems and contact centre software provider Servion Global Services.

Hosted contact centres provide inbound and outbound customer call facilities and international conferencing capabilities.

For businesses migrating to a hosted call centre, means paying only for what they use rather than on infrastructure or technology – software licenses, hardware, building infrastructure, and dedicating IT resources, leading to cost savings and flexibility.

This makes hosted contact centre chepaer than owned contact centres.

The consortium  will invest in acquiring 5,000 ports or seats in the first year of operations.
