HMD Global is preparing to announce a range of Nokia smartphones at Mobile World Congress 2018.

In addition to the Nokia 9, Nokia 1, Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 3310 4G version, the Finnish company also plans to launch a Nokia phone with penta lens later this year. In other words, HMD Global is said to have plans for a Nokia Android phone with five cameras at the back.

Not much has been revealed about the penta lens Nokia mobile yet. A source close to Foxconn's R&D buisiness information provided the information, which makes it reliable, as HMD Global is working closely with Foxconn to launch new Nokia smartphones, India Today reported.

What is known about the upcoming Nokia phone is that the smartphone will have five cameras at the back, and according to reports the penta-lens camera will feature a circular housing with seven holes in the middle. According to the leaked information, out of the seven holes, five will accommodate the camera lenses, while the other two will house LED flash, The Iindian Express reported online. As the reports suggest, the device will look very much like the Nokia OZO VR camera.

The device, which is currently in the ''verification'' phase, might be powered by Snapdragon 845 mobile processor inside. As there is very little information about the hardware it's difficult to say what price the phone would command in the market.

According to reports, HMD Global is not the only company working on the photography-focused smartphone.

China's Huawei also has plans to launch its P-20 flagship phone, which will come with five cameras in total. The device will feature a triple-lens camera setup on the back and two snappers above the screen on its top bezel. The launch would likely happen at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in late February.
